Best Demo Music for HiFi Gear Testing
Best Demo Music for HiFi Gear Testing
People always ask me what is the best demo music for HiFi gear testing. I’ve never really answered this question because music is so personal. It’s easy to dismiss one person’s opinion purely based on their musical selection rather than what they’re actually talking about. But I thought, you know what, why live in fear of what others think about what I listen to, or how I do my job. This video discusses the music I use to test all of the audio equipment for publications and my YouTube channel. I go in depth as to what nuances I look for in each track. Be sure to watch!
My Go-To Music to Demo Audio Related Gear
I don’t listen to the usual hi-fi or audiophile music. I do this for two reasons; one, I just don’t want to, and two, I try and use music in my tests that viewers may have actually heard. It’s important to have a point of reference when demoing gear, and a common one at that. For me, it starts with the music. This is why I’ve never really gravitated to audiophile albums -because I simply cannot relate.
