Great Speakers for HOME THEATER! Q Acoustics 3050i REVIEW
great speakers for home theater! q acoustics 3050i REVIEW
You know if you watch this channel one of our personal reference loudspeakers is the Q Acoustics Concept 300 bookshelf. The 300 is by no means cheap when you compare it to other speakers from Q Acoustics -but compared to other brands, it’s a value. Q Acoustics is known for making high style, high value loudspeakers and their newest tower loudspeaker, the 3050i is no exception. What I wanted to find out was this, just how high above its class does the 3050i reach? And could it even give my Concept 300s a run for their money? If you are looking for great speakers for home theater - Q Acoustics 3050i should be high on your list.
testing the q acoustics 3050i SPEAKERS
To test the Q Acoustics 3050i, we used a variety of budget-oriented products as well as higher end gear. AV receivers included the Denon S960H, Yamaha A3080, Sony 1080 and the NAD T778. Stereo integrated amplifiers included the Musical Fidelity M3si, M5si and Naim Uniti Atom. We listened to a lot of music and movies through the 3050i as well as the 3050i home theater, all of which were streamed either through the NAIM or our NVIDIA Shield connected to our LG 8K TV. You’ll find these as well as our music and movie selections listed in the video description.
As two channel speakers the 3050i are a solid choice, especially if you can pair them to electronics that -like them -either punch above their weight class, or are on the higher side of entry level to maybe even mid-fi in order to get the most out of their capabilities.
Where I really fell in love with the 3050is was when I used them as part of a complete home theater system. When driven by the NAD T778 and used alongside their matching center, surrounds and subwoofer, the 3050i 5.1 home theater system was tremendous fun. In truth, this setup was the best all around configuration for the 3050i that I was able to put together. It had it all; refinement, detail, energy, scale and dynamics. And while not inexpensive on a whole, it would be very hard if not impossible to beat a system such as this for less. In truth, I could live with this very setup for both music and movies forever.
The biggest drawback I see to the 3050i is this; while not difficult to drive, it is easy to drive them wrong. So you don’t have to go broke on electronics, but you do need to make sure you get the right electronics.
